Stepping Up

Posted by Lamprey Impressions on May 11, 2013 at 4:12pm 0 Comments

It's a long way to the top but if you stop along the way, the journey presents itself with friends and 'buddies'.  Friends are the ones you will find are always there for you.  The 'Buddy' is that guy that uses you when he needs something and you never hear from him for anything socially significant.

I don't need any 'Buddies'.  They encircle you like the leeches they are and only drain your positive energies.

I have good friends.

All you 'Buddies' can pound pavement.

I have been indoctrinated into Heavy Metal.  That is not to say that I don't appreciate other venues (no, Rap is not music) but I've heard some very decent bands (I'm not here to promote them, I'm here to promote me).

Recently, Single Bullet Theory acquired a new drummer in Jeff Willet so I decided I should check out his credentials (just like Matt DiFabio of SBT did before bringing him aboard).

I purchased his complete collection called "The Gathering Mist" which is…

Getting Heavy

Posted by Lamprey Impressions on March 22, 2013 at 12:39pm 0 Comments

I've recently had invites by a few Heavy Metal bands and promoters to photograph local events.

I was never really into Heavy Metal save for Metallica (a no brainer) but, with ear plugs in place and my trusty camera in hand, I've been to a few of these and must admit... there are some incredible talents among these uprising bands.

Never would I say that I am a resource for music talent but I do know what I like.  Some bands drown their vocals out either with laryngospasms…

About me
Well first and foremost, I am the Co- C.E.O of Skilluminaughty- Music as well as an artist on the label. I run things with my business partner and producer Carlton Manoxide, who is also the man behind Hidden Traxx Productions, and also our GM Bradley Riddick. A little about myself, I go by the name of Reles, and I‘ve been rapping since I was thirteen years old. Hip Hop is in my DNA, I love it, and I want to be apart of the history and movement that Hip Hop has brought about in these last twenty-five to thirty years. Like I said, I've been rapping since I was thirteen, honing my skills to one day become one of the greats, and make a mark on the industry whether underground or on a label. My style is not that of your typical rapper, I try to be smart with my syntax; my delivery is for lack of a better word impeccable. My voice is strong with its own unique quality that basically stands out on a track unmistakable to those who are familiar with my music. What influences me musically stems from a wide array of different genres of music such as Hip Hop, R&B, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Classical, even Country music, my motto is you never know what might inspire you. I see myself making an impact on this genre of music not only that, the world. I want to be an influence to some one musically as well as personally, I want to transcend not only genres of music but time as well; to be considered classic is what I strive for. I see the way things are and ask why not a different way, a smarter way, because at the end of the day I am Hip Hop and Hip Hop is a culture, so I feel its time to change the culture of Hip Hop.
