It's a long way to the top but if you stop along the way, the journey presents itself with friends and 'buddies'. Friends are the ones you will find are always there for you. The 'Buddy' is that guy that uses you when he needs something and you never hear from him for anything socially significant.
I don't need any 'Buddies'. They encircle you like the leeches they are and only drain your positive energies.
I have been indoctrinated into Heavy Metal. That is not to say that I don't appreciate other venues (no, Rap is not music) but I've heard some very decent bands (I'm not here to promote them, I'm here to promote me).
Recently, Single Bullet Theory acquired a new drummer in Jeff Willet so I decided I should check out his credentials (just like Matt DiFabio of SBT did before bringing him aboard).
I purchased his complete collection called "The Gathering Mist" which is…
I've recently had invites by a few Heavy Metal bands and promoters to photograph local events.
I was never really into Heavy Metal save for Metallica (a no brainer) but, with ear plugs in place and my trusty camera in hand, I've been to a few of these and must admit... there are some incredible talents among these uprising bands.
Never would I say that I am a resource for music talent but I do know what I like. Some bands drown their vocals out either with laryngospasms…
I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR THIS DOES NOT MEAN I HUSTLE FOR FREE I HAVE BILLS JUST LIKE YOU THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING HAHA.....WHAT'S YOUR TAKE ON THIS TOPIC OR BETTER YET HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOU MADE IT FAR ENOUGH TO ASK FOR A LIL KICKBACK?
New Jersey based Shawn Lov began his career as a recording artist in 1993 with the release of his first LP “Speak of the Devil,” which led to various live performances and guest appearances including Video Music Box Events (1994-1995), acting as the opener for Mobb Deep, King Sun, Big Pun and Old Dirty Bastard (1995), and as a musical guest on The Jenny Jones Show (1998). By 1997, Shawn Lov was collaborating with the late legendary Hip-Hop producer Tony- D of Poor Righteous Teacher and YZ fame, and their collaborations yielded hits like “The Lov Doctor,” “I’m Pathetic,” and “Respect This.” Shawn’s second LP “The G.O.D.” was released in 1998, and was produced entirely by Tony D. It wasn’t until Shawn Lov dropped his "Never Never Land" LP in 2000 that he began topping the charts on mp3.com and quickly gained a loyal underground following which expanded even further following his partnership overseas with Nuffsaid. In 2004 "The Blackout of 1977" was released on Nuffsaid Records and introduced Shawn Lov to an international audience, followed up by the critically acclaimed "Waiting for a Ghost" in 2007 which received praise by Rolling Stone magazine. In 2010 Shawn independently released The S.O.N. - a self-produced EP to show and prove that he can hold his own on the boards, and that he is still one of rawest, most impassioned rappers in the underground. 2011 saw the release of "Future Left Behind" the final chapter in a trilogy of Shawn Lov LP’s released by Nuffsaid Records.
